A fantastic idea but not well executed...

I wanted to love this phone case because it is apparently the only extended battery, waterproof, solar phone case. However, I returned it for a refund. Here's why:
1) The case did not have the security clip that was shown and advertised. Upon opening the packaging, I found only a photocopied note in the packaging noting the change. I felt a little cheated.
2). Charging does NOT work. When plugged in the iphone (5) outputs an error message that says something to the effect of "accessory may not be supported". Each time I charge the phone I have to remove it from the case. Annoying and not acceptable.
3) Unacceptable voice quality on voice calls using as handset or via speaker phone. Caller cannot hear me at all so I have to find and connect my earphones.
4) The plastic feels brittle. I will admit, however, that if this were the only issue I would keep the phone and hope for durability.
5) This was the big one. The case discharges the phone's battery! Left idle overnight with no apps running without a case the Iphone 5 discharged ~20%. Inserted into the case, the next day the phone was discharged 40%.
I did not use it long enough to test the solar function but brief usage seemed to indicate very little charging. A fantastic idea but not well executed at this price point.

Cool but cheap.

This this is awesome: except for the poor quality of worksmanship. The top hatch on mine just broke at the hinge- something that appears will happen from the moment you buy it. It feels cheap and definitely doesn't feel worthy of the hefty price tag.
The charging works great, ignore other reviews. The solar panel- while an awesome idea- is pointless. You, literally, will never have use for it unless you are trapped in the jungle for months on end. Every 1 hour in direct sun gives you 10 mins talk time... It's just a novelty.
I haven't tested it to the extremes with the waterproof factors but my phone has survived countless fishing trips on my kayak and has never shown signs of leakage.
Overall the case is awesome- barring you plan on using it longer than a few months. I mean the hinge literally snapped unprovoked. I looked at it the wrong way or something and it just snapped! This case isn't worth more than $45 max.

Volume problems

The case is very well constructed; however the volume is muted to the point that it was almost impossible to hear or be heard. I am not using it now and have gone back to my Otter case. I had purchased because of the battery but with the volume problems cannot use it.
